Barney Stinson From How I Met Your Mother has a Blog
If you are familiar with Barney from the show How I Met Your Mother, then you are a fan of Barney. To know him is to love him. Well if a weekly dose of Barney’s words of wisdom is not enough for you, I thought you should be aware that Barney Stinson has a blog.
Located on the www.cbs.com site, this blog is filled with Barney-isms. His blog dates back to 2005 and all of the past blog entries are archived. Today’s blog for instance is about “popping your big apple”. It is Barney’s guide for first timers to New York and it is very informative. He even gives tips on visiting the United Nations stating you should first “wrap yourself in your nation’s flag” and also states not to worry about a language barrier because “the language of love is universal”. Great stuff! 
Barney’s daily poll is another great feature of this blog. Today’s question: If you lost a slap bet which would you rather receive? The choices: 10 slaps administered immediately or 5 slaps, redeemable throughout eternity? I went with the 10 slaps immediately, that’s just the kind of person I am.
Some past blog entries on Barney’s Blog that really called out to me are, Take two awesomes and don’t call me in the morning, Huntin’ Coug and my personal favorite Lick My Bells. This is where Barney explains how, using a “sprinkling of cunning and a boatload of bravado”, he was able to lick the rim of the Liberty Bell. He goes on to explain that he has now licked every national monument in the continental United States. Funny stuff.
For those of you out there that need Barney’s help getting out of a not so great relationship check out his post titled, “Directions to the Dump”. The best tactic he has listed is #99 Emergency Exits. He has made a list of 6 lines that will all have you “skippin down hottie street footloose and girlfriend free in six words or less”. A great one from that list is #3 – It’s not you, it’s your looks. Priceless stuff. If you are a Barney fan you must check out this blog.

They use to promote Barney’s blog pretty heavily in Season 1. I thought it was a rather clever idea to extend the concept of the show to the web.
I doubt if Doogie Howser himself is writing the posts but the author is pretty funny.
