Any mannerism which helps you determine the secrets of an opponent’s hand is called a tell. I’ve spent time at Massachusetts casinos and just walked around for hours watching people at poker tables. Look closely and you’ll see opponents giving away the strength of their hands just by their mannerisms. Until a few years ago, nobody understood tells thoroughly. Experienced players would try to uncover trends in their opponents’ behavior. Maybe they discovered that one opponent would always loosen his tie five minutes before attempting a major bluff. Such discoveries are important, but there’s a much better way to go about reading opponents.

If you wanted to catalog all the possible tells an opponent might exhibit, the list might go on forever. You could sit for a few days and jot down several thousand things that opponents might do under stress. Unfortunately, after all that work, your list would be pitifully incomplete. There are millions of tells you could write down if you could only think of them all.

There is a simple way to read your opponents. You must learn the motives behind their actions. Then, even when you encounter a tell you’ve never seen before, you’ll have a good idea of what it means. When you’re finished with this book, you won’t have to memorize all the actions of each opponent. Instead, you’ll be able to fit their mannerisms into universal categories of tells. You’ll often know exactly what they hold and, better still, you’ll know why they’re acting as they are.

You’ll get deep inside their minds. And sometimes you’ll be positive what cards an opponent holds — just as if he’d turned his hand face up on the table! When you can do that, your profits will soar. In my opinion, a conscientious winner will at least triple his profits once he masters the science of tells.

It’s important that you comprehend the reason why many tells happen. Most tells occur because players are trying to conceal the true strength of their hands. The most likely way they attempt to do this is to act in a manner that will convey the opposite of what they’re holding. If a hand is weak, they’ll try to convince you it’s strong. If a hand is strong, they’ll try to convince you it’s weak.

In this sense, your opponents are actors.

Explore the basic multimedia capabilities of the iPhone and iPod touch.

You first learn how to play system sounds and longer sounds. You then move to the Media Player framework, where you use the framework to select and play a user’s iTunes audio multimedia. After learning to play iTunes media, you then learn how to play a video using the Media Player framework’s video player.

Once you get this far and you’re up and running with the iPhone SDK, I recommend reading these books to further your knowledge and getting building your own iPhone and iTouch applications.

Can someone please explain how Pepsi can bring out maggots in raw pork? As said on the title, it’s a 2 min clip of an experiment some couple conducted. They basically tried to draw maggots from store bought pork by pouring diet pepsi on it. I think you will find the outcome very surprising. not for the faint of heart.

WARNING: NOT FOR FAINT HEARTS!! After seeing the Raw pork and coke video. I decided to pour (not pepsi but) DIET pepsi and the result horrified me! Watch the video until the end to believe it.

So it got me thinking. What does Coke might have affected our stomach? Damn. I heard that the worms in pork doesn’t die even though you cook them. Not sure if it’s true or not but anyway, think about the effect of Coke to your stomach.

The documents could not be obtained Tuesday by The Associated Press and Brown’s attorney Phaedra Parks declined to comment.

Whitney Houston, 43, had asked in her separation papers that she be granted custody of the couple’s 13-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina, and that Bobby Brown, 37, be allowed visitation rights.

Dionne Warwick and mogul Clive Davis, with whom she is working on a new album.

Brown, who also has two teenage children with a Massachusetts woman, recently paid up to $11,000 in delinquent child support after being threatened with arrest two weeks ago if he stepped back into the state.

Brown’s attorney has said he was having a “very difficult” time due to the separation initiated by Houston.

Traditional Pumpkin Carving

If you are only interested in carving a pumpkin into your basic Jack-o-lantern style consisting of two eyes, a nose, a mouth, and a removable top then you will only need a few basic tools. A thin bladed knife, a large spoon or ice cream scoop and some newspaper should about cover it.

1. Lay out newspaper
2. Use the knife to cut a hole in the top of the pumpkin around the stem. The hole should be big enough for you to fit your hand inside of the pumpkin when scooping out the stringy membrane and seeds.*hint* as you cut the hole you should angle the knife inward a bit so that the hole is not perfectly circular, this will keep the top from falling in when you put it back on.
3. Start scooping out the inside of the pumpkin making sure to keep the pumpkin on the newspaper to make as little a mess as possible. Continue this until all of the insides are removed
4. Decide which side of the pumpkin would look best with a face on it
5. Begin carving the eyes, nose, and mouth.
6. You should also shave the bottom of the pumpkin where necessary to make sure that it sits level

Not So Traditional Pumpkin Carving

If you are looking for a less traditional approach to your pumpkin carving you can use pumpkin carving stencils. A pumpkin carving stencil is basically a drawing which you will attach to your pumpkin which has shaded areas that let you know where to cut the holes. If you use a pumpkin carving stencil with a pretty simple design on it…this will be a breeze.

The tools that you will need when carving a pumpkin with stencils include all the tools needed for regular carving which were listed above plus a carving saw, transfer took, and a carving stencil.

1. Prepare the pumpkin for carving as is listed above
2. Cut excess paper off the sides of the stencil making sure to leave at least a 1/2 inch border of paper around the actual stencil design.
3. Attach the stencil to the pumpkin using tape
4. Use the transfer tool to begin poking holes on the outline of your stencil design. The holes only need to be deep enough to go through the paper and the outer skin of the pumpkin and they should be spaced about 1/8 of an inch apart
5. Remove the stencil from the pumpkin and make sure that your outline is clearly marked with holes
6. Now you will be using the carving saw to basically connect the dots on the pumpkin, you will stick the carving saw in one of the tiny holes as a starting point and cut along the holes until complete
7. Once you remove all of the cut pieces you want to go back and shave down all of the inside edges of the pumpkin for a neater, cleaner appearance

How To Turn That Carved Pumpkin Into A Jack-O-Lantern

Now that you have your pumpkin carved up it’s time to turn it into a Jack-o-lantern by adding a little light to the situation. There are a few ways in which you can add light to the inside of your pumpkin…some safer than others.

Candles And Holders – This is the most classic way of lighting up that Jack-o-lantern. Simply get a clear votive candle holder, put a candle in it, light it and place it inside the pumpkin. This will last a long time and it looks very authentic but you really can’t leave candles unsupervised so this approach isn’t the most practical.

Pumpkin Lights – This is a newer way of lighting up the inside of those carved pumpkins. There are many places that sell battery operated lights that are made specifically for lighting the inside of a pumpkin. They have lights that flicker just like a candle and you can ever get rainbow colored lights. Plus, this option lets you “set it and forget it” since you don’t have to supervise the pumpkin like you do when using a candle.

Glow Sticks – Another option for illuminating your carved pumpkin is using a simple glow stick. You know, the same kind that you strap around your body to go trick or treating with. Since glow sticks aren’t very bright you should use more than one in each pumpkin and try to keep the pumpkins in a dark area to get the greatest effect. This is probably the safest method of lighting up your Jack-o-lantern.

Now, if you want to get real fancy with your pumpkin carving…the possibilities are endless. Check out the video below, it’s amazing what you can turn an ordinary pumpkin into. It’s not clear to me if this was done free hand or with the use of a stencil (I’m leaning toward stencil).

Whichever pumpkin carving method you choose and whichever Jack-O-Lantern lighting method you use always make sure to do one thing…Enjoy yourself. Halloween only comes around once a year, enjoy it while it is here.

African Cichlids are different than any other fish in the world. They may have close relatives from South America but they are unique to the world. Cichlids come from five high elevation lakes in the mountains of Africa. Filled with rocks and having a mineral content that would make it hard for any other fish to breathe. These fish require a high temperature tank of around 76 degrees Fahrenheit and are very fickle about the pH of the water that they are in. Meaning that cichlids tanks should be monitored closely for three very specific things. Mineral content or water hardness, pH, and lastly temperature.

Research the Right Setup for Your African Cichlids

Once you are aware of these requirements you are ready to decide what cichlids you want. Don’t rush off to the pet store because unless it is a specialty shop they won’t know what you need. You need to look at the cichlids you want and decide which of the five lakes you are going to choose from. Why do this? Because each lake has a different pH and water hardness. You may find that your choices become a bit limited but don’t worry about it. There are many colorful cichlids in each of the lakes that you are sure to find some that you are content with. Also you can risk mixing species from a lake that is close to another in specifications. Just be aware that you are taking a risk.

Caring for African Cichlids Needs

African cichlids have a tendency to be a little rough with each other. This is the territorial nature of the fish that it exhibits in the wild. It is a good idea to have a large tank for your cichlids to have a lot of turf. Along with rocks and a few plants are a good idea to allow the fish to use these markers to draw boundaries. Plants are a struggle however in a cichlid tank. It’s not like you can get out your underwater robot fish and protect the little guys from the more aggressive bullies.

Live plants with most certainly die in the high pH water and the African Cichlid adds to the equation by digging up any plant that they see. In order to move boundary lines in their favor. Fake plants are a must in these tanks and the best have ceramic bases so that they will not float when they are dug up. Rocks are the main attraction in a cichlid tank and you have to be aware that you need a lot.

Do not allow your rocks to be in contact with the bottom of the tank. You are just asking for trouble. Place them on top of a light layer of substrate, such as gravel, and then add the majority of gravel above that. This is because cichlids like to dig even if there isn’t a plant involved. One of my fish actually killed himself by digging too far and pinned himself under a rock. Make sure your rocks rest stably on the bottom of the tank and do not wobble. I always thought that limestone or slate rocks were good to build higher aquarium rockscapes.

African Cichlids Are Aggressive

There is a common misconception that having fish of the same size in a tank decreases aggression. That is not the case because in the same way that having boundaries makes fish aggressive having another fish that is the same size does even more to fuel the fire. A fish that is smaller than another fish is no threat to a bigger one and the bigger fish will not try to hurt it unless it is small enough to be eaten.

Two fish of the same size are more aggressive because they can not intimidate the other fish through size. They have to mark boundaries by fighting. Having a good variety of size in your tank is a good idea because of this. Not small enough that the little fish will become snacks but big enough to fend for themselves. Also it is a good idea to have caves for fish to hide in if they are on the smaller size.

Lastly, do not mix true African Cichlids with their South American counterparts. This is a very bad idea because the South American variety is not going to be comfortable in the tank conditions and they will most likely kill off the other fish. They are more aggressive towards other fish than any other type of cichlid and will not stop at the other fish submitting.

These are all the biggest mistakes that beginner and advanced aquarium owners make when dealing with the African Cichlid. One of the more amazing fish that can grow to a decent size and have a color to amaze. These are very easy fish to care for and a joy to own.
