Brad Sucks CDWanted to test out this new mp3 player buttons and what better music to use than Brad Sucks

From Brad’s site:

Brad Sucks is the name of my one man band. I write, record and produce songs and put them on this website for people to download and hopefully share and enjoy. There are also some albums for sale.

In 2001, I started using the Internet (blogs, MP3s, P2P) to spread my music and not worrying so much about copyright violation. I’ve even been giving the source of my songs away for remixers to play with. I figured that spreading my music should be the number one goal and so far it’s worked out pretty well. Read more

Whitney Houston Wants A Divorce

October 18, 2006 by Ken Savage

After a crazy 14-year marriage marked by drug arrests and stints in rehab, Whitney Houston is divorcing Bobby Brown.
The pop singer filed divorce papers in Orange County Superior Court this week, a month after filing for legal separation from Bobby Brown, Houston’s publicist Nancy Seltzer said Tuesday.

The documents could not be obtained Tuesday by The Associated Press and Brown’s attorney Phaedra Parks declined to comment.

Whitney Houston, 43, had asked in her separation papers that she be granted custody of the couple’s 13-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina, and that Bobby Brown, 37, be allowed visitation rights.

The couple wed in 1992, with Houston at the height of her fame as a Grammy-winning superstar known for such hits as “I Will Always Love You.”

Brown won acclaim for his gritty R&B songs as a one-time member of the boy band New Edition.

During their marriage, Brown was arrested for drugs and alcohol and Houston entered drug rehabilitation programs twice.

In an attempt to clean up her public image, Houston stepped out last month for an event in Beverly Hills with cousin
Dionne Warwick and mogul Clive Davis, with whom she is working on a new album.

Brown, who also has two teenage children with a Massachusetts woman, recently paid up to $11,000 in delinquent child support after being threatened with arrest two weeks ago if he stepped back into the state.

Brown’s attorney has said he was having a “very difficult” time due to the separation initiated by Houston.

Diddy and Danity Kane Back on Tour

October 12, 2006 by Ken Savage

The Pussycat Dolls will open the show on all North American dates and Danity Kane will also join the bill for U.S. concerts. Ticket on-sales for the tour begin October 14.
The arena concert tour stops include Dallas, Los Angeles, Boston, San Diego, Phoenix, Vancouver, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Toronto, Miami, Montreal, New York.

The North American tour follows Christina’s recently announced European concerts, kicking-off November 17 in Sheffield, England including shows in Austria, Holland, Ireland, Germany and Switzerland.

And where has Diddy been? Diddy hasn’t released an album in five years. And although he helped push his teen-pop group, Danity Kane, to the top of the album charts, he has also learned to lie low. Two acts on his label, Bad Boy — the R&B singer Cassie and the pop-friendly rapper Yung Joc — scored summer hits without much visible involvement from him. Read more

Wolfmother - Dimension Real Rock Music

The whole music bloggers world loves Wolfmother. Especially their new single Dimension.

Well, let’s face it, the Aussie retro trio has a huge appeal for anyone who digs big balls seventies rock bands like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. Throw in a Doors keyboard icing on the cake and you have a recipe for success.

When you are invited to open for Gov’t Mule, you know you are on the right track.

What’s Up with Six and MTV 6000

August 31, 2006 by Ken Savage

That was crazy. MTV6000 crashed. Some dude ran up on stage as Jenifer Lopez was announcing the Viewer’s Choice Award at MTV’s Video Music Awards. This dude runs up on stage and snags the mic from one of the Panic! At The Disco singer.

Announces his website and they catches a beat down.

Just watching the MTV awards… And when Panic at the Disco received the Viewers Choice award, some dude jumped up on stage, grabbed the microphone and said: “MTV never gave me my own show, check out mtv6000.com.” And then what looked like security jumped on stage and grabbed him. The band, Jennifer Lopez and the crowed looked surprised. Jack Black even said “not cool.”

I don’t particularly love Panic! At The Disco. They’re good-looking makeup wearing young boys, AND stayed sober long enough to at least accept their award.

But hey what was up with that weird guy plugging MTV6000.com? You weird award-show-crasher guy. He’s probably related to the Soy Bomb streaker dancer guy who crashed Bob Dylan at the Grammys.

Nick King I hope you don’t get in trouble.

Great video playing some Theme to Charlie Brown with a little finger tap improve on a 6 stringcBass guitar.
“Linus and Lucy” is a jazz piano piece written by Vince Guaraldi and made popular in many of the Peanuts animated television specials. Although originally intended only for the Peanuts characters Linus and Lucy van Pelt, the piece has come to be recognized as the theme music of the media property in general.
Pianists who play in public venues where requests are taken find that it is among the most frequently requested pieces.

August 9, 2006 by Ken Savage

Audioslave new CD Revelations had 20 songs written (a few of which were sampled during their 2005 tour) and returned to the studio in early January to finish recording them. The album is said to have a number of songs influenced by old-school R&B and Soul. Brendan O’Brien, who has produced or mixed the albums of numerous major rock acts of the past twenty years, including Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam and Bruce Springsteen, was at the helm for their third record, provisionally titled Revelations. In a recent interview on the Opie and Anthony radio show, guitarist Tom Morello said that the album would feature ‘funky grooves’ that are similar to those of Led Zeppelin and Earth, Wind & Fire. oh yea and Chris Connell is NOT leaving the band!

Revelations was recently pushed back to a September 5th release. “Original Fire” is the first single from the effort, and the song goes for adds on July 17th. MTV.com reported that the video for the song, directed by P.R. Brown was shot on the week of July 3rd to July 7th. On July 11th the song was made available online on Audioslave’s official website for free streaming.

Brand New Heavies Streaming Now and Free

August 7, 2006 by Ken Savage

They are back with a vengeance. So said The Hollywood Reporters Craig Rosen in his glowing May 7, 2006 review of The Brand New Heavies sizzling performance at the legendary Roxy Nightclub in Los Angeles.brand-new-heavies.jpg

In the early 1990s, London-based The Brand New Heavies created a musical movement by bringing soul music back to live instrumentation and impassioned vocals. Sassy, soulful and emotive vocalist NDea Davenport, guitarist Simon Bartholomew, drummer/keyboardist Jan Kinkaid and bassist Andrew Love Levy built their sound around the music they loved: classic American funk and soul music. The bands infectious grooves and inspiring songs — including Never Stop, Stay This Way and Dream On Dreamer — set in motion a 1990s musical revolution that permeates throughout the neo soul sound of today.

Freshly reunited after an extensive layoff, the group has returned with a renewed sense of purpose for Get Used To It. The masterful collection skillfully blends the classic live funk and soul sound that was the signature of the group when they came out with their stunning self-titled debut album 15 years ago. Recorded and produced in New York and London, Get Used To It will be available simultaneously at Starbucks Company-operated locations in the U.S. and Canada as well as traditional retail.

The Heavies spell out their musical mission on Get Used To Its delightfully festive Right On, as Davenport sings: Bring back the funk in music/Put back the funk in music. With stellar horn arrangements and a fluid bass groove, the tune is equal parts mantra and declaration. Elsewhere, the dreamily addictive Love Is starts out with a tentative Davenport questioning the worth of her relationship before concluding that love is what you make it. She then ponders the reason for her devotion to her cheating beau on the impassioned Dont Know Why (I Love You). Read more

What’s New with Windows Media Player 11

July 6, 2006 by Ken Savage
Filed under Entertainment, Movies, Music, Technology, radio

Windows Media player 11 looks very different to earlier versions of windows media player. This is because it has been designed with Windows Vista in mind. At this time it is not certain if Windows media player 11 will be available before Windows Vista is released. The application does function perfectly fine within Windows XP, but the GUI design does make it look a little out of place.

The New GUI has been designed with the Windows Vista appearance very much in mind. I understand the application will be sinkable when the final version is released.

Windows media player 11 has an entire interface tab dedicated to connection to portable devices. It is clear that Microsoft still have keen plans and ambitions when it comes to the Apple iPod dominated world of portable media.

Microsoft have long been involved in the software side of portable MP3 players such as the iRiver and Zen media devices. This clear and simple to use interface will certainly make it a lot easier to link up your portable media to the PC. Microsoft will see this as a clear way to entice users to the recently revamped MSN music store. Portable media has proven to be a huge market in recent years.

Windows media player 11 also makes it a lot easier to rip your conventional media from CD form to MP3 format. Microsoft have introduced their Digital rights management into Media player 11 and you can use this to control the distribution of your media. It is interesting to note you can check a ox to have windows ignore your reproduction of music. It is however recommended that you use this feature to control how many copies you can make of your original purchases. Read more

Ashlee Simpson Can Smile While in Massachusetts

July 3, 2006 by Ken Savage

It isn’t easy being Ashlee Simpson.

There’s the gorgeous, mega-famous older sister. The Saturday Night Live lip-syncing snafu. Being booed at the Orange Bowl. Getting caught on tape drunkenly swearing and barefoot at a McDonald’s.

But Ashlee Simpson, 21, can laugh about it. A few years in showbiz, after all, makes you grow some pretty thick skin.

“It’s just a part of the business and I realize that criticism is something that comes with that,” says Simpson. “I just shrug it off — I don’t read any of the negativity.”

Talking on the phone from Los Angeles, Simpson chatted and giggled at a breakneck pace as she dished on fans, touring and life as Jessica’s younger sister.

Simpson launched a full-scale U.S. tour last month where she’ll take on everything from tiny nightclubs to gigantic arenas and amphitheaters.

Simpson says she loves both types of venues. Read more

June 1, 2006 by Ken Savage

Your Girls are Back!!
Making the Band 3 returns with the girls Aubrey O’day, Aundrea Fimbres, Dawn Richard, Shannon Bex, and Wanita Woodgette.
MTV announced officially the new season for Making the Band 3, (or is it Making the Band 4?) season 3 is set to jump off June, 15th 9:00EST.

Aundrea Fimbres is hot. She is gorgeous, beautiful brown eyes, dark hair, a gorgeous smile and of course a great body.
Aundrea seems to be really down to Earth and genuine. Aundrea Fimbres is 22 years old, from Upland, CA. Doc said that she “has the best voice”. She is hands down, the best singer of the band. I know that she will make it in the music industry with or without this band. Currently she does not have her own website. Or does she?

Aubrey O’day is the Hottest of the Making the Band 3 girls.
Aubrey is Aundrea’s best friend. They’ve stuck together through think and thin. They both were in the embarrassing Making The Band 3 : Season 1. Aubrey has been very consistent with her dancing and vocals. She has always performed good, danced great and sounded great. Aubrey was featured in Blender Magazine and has her own website. Aubrey is 21 years old and hails from the lovely city of San Francisco, CA. She is 5′4″ tall and is an only child. She doesn’t have a favorite color because “every color gives me a reminder of a different memories in my life”. Read more

PlayStation 2 Guitar Hero 2 will be released this November 2006. If you already have PlayStation 2 Guitar Hero then you know how expensive it is. The expected retail price should be just as expensive too. GameStop is asking $89.99 for the Guitar Hero 2 sequel’s bundle.
Little too expensive for me since I have the first one too. Would be nice if they just came out with a new cd with newer songs on it to Rock Out too.

Hey watch the video of these guys get all gay and happy while playing Guitar Hero

Dave Chappelle and his movie Block Party

March 3, 2006 by Ken Savage

Two years ago on a gray September day, the comedian Dave Chappelle held a noon-to-night concert in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn. Scores of New Yorkers were bused in from Manhattan and had no idea where they were going — they didn’t care.

Kanye West, Mos Def, Erykah Badu, the Roots, Common, Big Daddy Kane, and Talib Kweli were among those who performed in the wind and rain. The next day the blogs, and later the magazines, were in a tizzy over the Fugees, who had recovered from Lauryn Hill’s nervous breakdown and Pras and Wyclef Jean’s spatting to consummate a reunion.

Being there must have been special. But watching this all happen in ”Dave Chappelle’s Block Party” is better. Read more
