Marc Deschenes – Dracut guy makes good

Marc Deschenes Good for Marc Deschenes. He’s been playing around the minor leagues for a while and now looking for his shot at the Major Leagues.

Currently with the Nashua Pride. “I’m having the time of my life playing here right now,” says Deschenes, 31, a former UMass Lowell right-handed pitcher from Dracut, who during eight seasons of organized ball topped out in Triple-A with the Indians and Cubs in 2001 and 2002.

After being out of professional baseball last season, Deschenes headed into last night second in the Atlantic League with nine saves. This independent league is well-stocked with former major league and Triple-A hitters aching for another shot at the bigs. They were batting only .171 against Deschenes, who was 2-0 with a 1.96 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 23 innings.

    Hey Ken,
    How ya been?…I found ya website doing a search for Marc Deschenes. I have been following his career since we played together at ULowell. Isn’t it awesome that he is still playin and playing in the redsox organization. I really hope he makes it up. He has some great stats this year. How are you doing anyway? I recently got back in touch with Rodney Redman. He lives in Nashua and is married with 2 kids. You have one? Right? Betsy and I live in Windham NH on mammoth road. Last I heard about you you had a tree landing on you house. OUCH!! I worry about that every storm because we have 4 huge pine trees right behind our house in the middle of the yard. Well, I’d love to hear back from you to hear how you are doing. Maybe you and Rodney and I could all get together like old times. Email me back when you get a chance. Jason
