Grindhouse - Sleaze Filled Movie by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez

If you don’t know the definition of the term grindhouse… look it up. Grindhouse the movie is the collaborative work of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez set for release on April 6, 2007.

“Grindhouse” is a full length feature which is made up of two individual films Death Proof and Planet Terror created separately by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. It is described on the Grindhouse Official Website as the sleaze filled saga of an exploitation double feature by Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez.

Death Proof is the story of a psycho killer who uses his vehicle as his weapon while Planet Terror deals with two married doctors who, while working the grave-shift, discover a rather large zombie problem. The Grindhouse website was bazaar in and of itself so if you want to get a feel of what twisted things you can be sure to see on the big screen you should definitely check it out.

I find the whole concept of the two separate movies included in one release as being a pretty unique idea in this day and age. Of course the idea in itself is not unique. Both Tarantino and Rodriquez have stated that they did borrow the idea from the original grindhouses which released double feature B movies on a regular basis. What they have done is put their own spin on the whole concept.

The creation of an A movie being disguised as a B movie is what the directors set out to do and in my opinion they have accomplished just that.
