How to remove house arrest bracelet in just a few easy steps.
If you want to remove a house arrest bracelet then there are a few things to consider first. Removing it is an offense that breaks your parole and will easily put you back in prison. Things gotta be pretty desperate if you’re reading this and need to remove that anklet. So here’s a few questions I ask a guy I know who’s currently doing 90 days (as of writing this):
Here’s a Q and A on house arrest bracelets
Q: What is House Arrest?
A: House Arrest limits an offender’s movement within the community through electronic monitoring. House Arrest encompasses a philosophy of home detention, and strict accountability for any movement of the offender within the community, as approved by the Court or House Arrest office. House Arrest is used in lieu of incarceration in a State prison or County jail.
Q: Have you ever taken your house arrest anklet off? and how?
A: haha Well since you’re not using my name here, I have been able to remove it to go swimming. I was told by my P.O. not to get it wet. I believed him but he’s a dick anyways and is probably lying to me. So what I did was slide under it a steel rod about 2 feet long. Then I twisted it until the rivets or button things popped off. I totally panicked when I saw that but at least it was off. I then had someone goto a tailor and get the same kind of leather rivets and reinserted them.
Q: Who can be on House Arrest?
A: Any individual who is either pre or post conviction may be supervised by electronic monitoring, through legal assignment of a Court or Probation / Parole Officer. Cases supervised include offenders from the District Court, various municipalities, as a condition of bond, per the written directive of a Probation or Parole Officer, and via the Conditional Release program of the Johnson County Residential Center.
Q: How long does House Arrest last?
A: The length of House Arrest supervision is determined by the sentencing Court or entity. Sentences range from one day to an indefinite period. Typical terms of House Arrest supervision range from 30 to 90 days in length.
Q: What equipment is used to electronically monitor an offender?
Monitoring Equipment A: House Arrest utilizes electronic monitoring equipment (see image on right), installed in an offender’s residence, to verify each offender’s compliance. This equipment is used via phone lines, and serves several functions. Random computer generated phone calls to the offender’s residence provides the House Arrest department with a photographic response, a voice response, and a breath sample to ensure the offender is not using / abusing alcohol. The photographic response is recorded, verifying the offender is in their residence, as scheduled.
Q: Do offenders have equipment strapped to their body?
A: In some circumstances offenders are required to wear a tamper proof ankle bracelet, which electronically communicates with their home monitoring unit. This ankle bracelet notifies House Arrest any time the offender exits without authorization, and continuously confirms the offender’s presence within the residence. Ankle bracelets are utilized to strictly reduce offender movement, in conjunction with the photographic, voice, and breath response.
Q: What activities are offenders on House Arrest allowed to do?
A: Dependant upon Court orders, some offenders are strictly restricted to their residence, while others are allowed to maintain employment and approved activities. These activities would include educational programming, probation and parole meetings, drug testing, substance abuse and mental health treatment, and religious services. All movement must be scheduled and approved in advance, by the assigned House Arrest Officer.
Q: How is schedule compliance verified?
A: Each offender must meet weekly with their assigned House Arrest Officer to create a written schedule of movement for the week. Upon each weekly meeting, the offender must provide proof of their compliance via pay stubs, work schedules, receipts, verification cards, etc. House Arrest Officers maintain a high level of contact with offender employers and treatment providers to verify compliance, and complete random community compliance checks on each offender, at their residence or place of employment.
Q: What happens when someone violates his or her House Arrest?
A: When an offender can not be located, a four-hour non-compliance procedure is initiated. During this four-hour period many steps are taken to locate the offender, including a residence check by local law enforcement, manual calls to the offender’s residence and employment, and contact of the offenders listed emergency contact. If the client can not be located that offender is declared Absent Without Leave (AWOL). In all District Court cases, a warrant request is immediately completed, and filed with the Sheriff’s Department. With Municipal and Parole offenders, the referring Municipality or Parole Officer is notified immediately, and those individual entities initiate their revocation proceedings When violations occur and the offender’s whereabouts are known, a wide variety of sanctions can be imposed, up to and including the arrest and detention of the offender.
Q: Are offenders under House Arrest supervision tested for drug use?
A: Yes I have. Each offender receives a breath analysis each time the monitoring equipment contacts them at their residence. Each offender is also required to submit to frequent and random urinalyses testing, to ensure they are maintaining a drug free lifestyle. Drug testing is increased in cases of noncompliance, upon behavioral concerns, or when reasonable belief exists that the offender is possible using illegal drugs.
Q: What does House Arrest cost?
A: The cost of House Arrest supervision is incurred by the offender. Each offender is required to pay a daily monitoring fee of $12. Increase fees apply for individuals living outside the local calling area. Each offender is also required to pay for frequent random drug testing.

Hey guys, so today was my court date. I just found this message board after being on voluntary house arrest for 30 days. So I went in to court assuming that I would have to be on this stupid thing for atleast another 3 more months because my attorney had said that usually thats what I would get sentenced. This is for my third DUI and also driving on a suspended license (but to in my defense I was headed to work). Anyway I went in today and came out with not 3 more months but 7 more months. So now I wont be able to taste freedom until March 6th of 2010. Sucks balls!!! I recently started dating someone that has been very understanding of my situation so I am thankful for that. I also have a ton of friends that call me and visit me very frequently. All day today I didn’t take any calls and I just slept because I was so bummed about not being able to move on with my life for quite some time. I had plans on moving out on my own within those 7 months and now I have to wait for I dont now how long. I am currently unemployed and my attorney was suggesting I get a job due to the fact that I will be able to go out of my house but If I get a part time job I will no longer receive unemployment which has been very good to me because I was making a good living from my passed employer. So I am 25 and still struggling with the idea of not being able to travel or do any of the fun summer stuff that I usually get to do. I live in S. Cal. Orange County to be exact and I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to get off of this program earlier for good behavior or something like that. By the way I have scram and Robocuff for now until my next court day on sep. 21st when they actually decide if I can go on the H.A program or if I have to continue it as a private H.A which I don’t want because if I don’t get accepted I have to report to the county jail on weekends. I will do whatever it takes so long as I don’t go to jail. I would say that is my biggest fear, especially in Orangec County because my attorney was saying that since I was gay and not a big framed kinda guy they would put me in protective custody and that alone will drive me nuts. Anyway if anyone has any advice for me or just wants to compare situations or has any advice about scram please hit me up. I will appreciate all the input good or bad.
Peace to you all.
You endangered lives by drinking and driving. You’re lucky you are just on house arrest.
Your a dick (k). Why would you even be on this site you nosey loser! Hey there mars, im in the same situation as you and i was told that they wont do a sentence modification while on house arrest by the sherriff that checks on me. I hope to hear diff. by someone that knows better.
Hey everyone just dropping by to see how life has been treating everyone. I’ve been off h.a. for nearly a year now and beleive it or not I have felt that I had far LESS drama going on in my life when i was on h.a. then I do now that I am free to roam around.
H.a. is deffinitly a time to reflect on the mistakes you made. Take the time in and seriously realize why you’re all in the position you are. I dont wanna come across as “preaching” but I just hope everyone is doing well and even though in a sense your wings are clipped that doesn’t mean you cant make this “bad” time into a good one. Keep your heads up. It’ll be all done and over with in time I promise you!!!
God bless everyone!
I’m very sorry to hear about your situation but you had me on the floor with this one: “This is for my third DUI and also driving on a suspended license (but to in my defense I was headed to work).”
Exactly where can you work that it’s OK to go in drunk? LOL
i wasnt going to work drunk. I had gotten a second dui days later i drove suspended next year after that I got a dui.
Just got my bracelet today… gonna have it for 180 days! Damn it sucks, but I’ll have some time to myself I guess… I’ve got work leave but it’s not gonna be the greatest…
And Mars up there… funny thing is, my birthday is on March 6th! Lol, just thought it was kind of amusing… =P
well happy birthday to you Flip. We should be getting our freedom around them same time. but looks like unfortunately for you and I we will spend our Birthdays on house arrest. Mine is Sept. 30th. What did you get your HA for? what state?
I got mine because I was in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong guy… A couple friends and I were in a place that looked completely abandoned, we were kinda explorin the area I guess cuz it looked like a neat place… but after about an hour some guy drove up who apperently worked there… he saw us and started yellin so we took off, but he got outta his truck and chased us down, but he reached out to grab me. Now, this guy is 6 foot 4 and 285 pounds as apposed to my 5 foot 9 and 125 pounds… Well when he grabbed me, the force of me runnin so fast pulled him off balance and he fell and broke his wrist in 2 places… That’s when the cops pulled up so we all quit runnin and they took us in… They were gonna press only tresspassing, but they wrote it up wrong and couldn’t use it and they’re not allowed to rewrite it, and needless to say, they were pissed… And as it turned out, this guy that broke his wrist was actually the Head of the street department for our area.. and his sister is a Marion County Supreme Court judge and his brother is a Metro cop, so I ended up getting charged for Battery Class C Felony… they gave me a plea bargain that if I plead guilty I’d get 6 months house arrest and then 545 days probation… and if I serve that without trouble, then it’ll be a Class A Misdemeanor instead, that way it won’t mess up my entire life…
Indianapolis, Indiana…
good luck with that. I am still on H.A almost about 40 something days in.
Mars, I’m in a very similar situation to you. I’m currently doing h.a. For my third DUI as well. It sucks. If it wasn’t for my friends coming over and hangin out or my xbox live I’d be goin crazy. I’ve been on on since June 26, and have a 9 month sentence on this h.a., so I’ll be off around the of march. It seems march will be freedom month. Another similarity we have is I am also in orange county ca. What court did you go to? Have a private atty or pub def? I can help you with most any question u may have about h.a as iv been doin it for a little bit and have the routine down. I have never heard of scram or robocuff before, what are those?
Dude, thats crazy… I went to Westminster court because I got my DUI in Seal Beach on the way to a buddies house late at night. I must have blacked or something because earlier that day I had told my friend I was not going to drive but I somehow stupidly left his house after I was already pretty much in bed. So I am not drinking. I guess we will be getting out around the same time as well. I think I end my term March 6th. For sure though I have definitely learned my lesson and no more drinking and driving for me. I have missed out on so much this summer and to think that I have to miss out on halloween and New years eve. I am still dating someone currently but it kinda puts a strain on the relationship when I am not able to go out either. Hey Brian where did you get your DUI. BTW I am in the city of Cypress… You? Scram and Robocuff is a private H.A. Sucks I pay 600 bucks a month for it.
oh btw you can catch me on aim or yahoo messenger at suprmari0 last o is a zero btw.
will they know if im on my porch? or where i am inside the monitoring range
I’m Doing two years house arrest for habitual traffic offender plus I had to do two years in jail besides my house arrest and I had a jury trial on my charge.
hey i currently have the sentinel sentrak anklet (which I believe doesn’t have alcohol consumption detection on it). I have the alcohol breathalyzer unit for 30 days bc my crime wasn’t alcohol related. My question is… after 30 days can I drink? I know that the only way they’ll be able to detect it is if I drank the night before a drug test, which leads to my other question. I have noticed that they do their own drug testing in the office, which is only open Mon-Fri 9 AM – 4 PM. Does anyone have any experience with them drug testing on the weekend? I figure if I drank Friday night, they wouldn’t have a way of detecting it.
I’m under sentinel too, and no the anklet can not detect alcohol, only the breath machine. For my case the machine goes off 3 times a day, usually between 6-7am, 6-7pm, and 8-9pm. So if I feel like havin a beer at night I just have 1 or 2 after the last test for the day and by the time morning comes around if you’ve only had a couple drinks the alcohols out of your system and they will never know. And as far as I know they will not drug test you on weekends (or during the week for that matter.) I have been on fir almost 3 months and never been drug tested. I don’t do drugs or have a drug related crime so maybe that’s why. But ya as far as drinking just get the routine of what time your breathalyzer goes off and drink accordingly around it. But if you only have it for 30 days then it shouldn’t be a prob to just make it easy and not drink for a month. If you don’t have the machine they’ll never know if you’ve been drinking unless you go in for your appointment buzzed or somethin, so just wait till your breathalyzers gone and then drink away.
Thanks for the info. I don’t do drugs and my crime wasn’t drug-related either (it’s been 3 weeks and they haven’t drug tested me), but I just wanted to know because it seems like that would be the only way they could catch me drinking. I hear the drug tests are $50 each? Excuse my ignorance but my monthly income is pretty low as it is and even two of these tests a month would wipe me out financially. My last question is how often have they “randomly” come to your house to check up on you or what not?
Ya it kind of sucks that if we ever did get tested we would have to pay for the test. And as for random check ups, been almost 3 months and they never have come by to randomly check on me nor have they randomly called to checK on me. Outside of paying for the program it hasn’t been as tough as they originally told me it would be. I think as long as your current with your payments and you don’t give them any reason to bother you, they won’t. Any other questions or concerns just ask away and I’ll let you know based on my experience with sentinel thus far. How long is your sentence for?
Hey Brian. I am going in on a couple of days to that first house arrest meeting also with Sentinel where they will give me the bracelet and let me know how everything is going to work. But I have one big concern. My officer said that they would be administering a drug test at this meeting and to be honest, although I have stopped for a couple weeks now since he told me, there still may be some thc in my system. Do they test on the very first day, and is it possible for me to go right to jail if I did not pass? Kind of worried.
Thanks any info would be helpful,
Tony
yeah from what I’ve experienced, they don’t call unless they really need to (ie you’re somewhere you’re not suppose to be). I’m gonna be on it for 9 more months. From what I understand. Your regular PO takes a back seat to your house arrest PO while under the program, correct? Because I went to see my PO and they said to give them a call back after HA ends. I think all I’m worried about is being caught for alcohol but it seems like you’ve answered all my questions, thanks =D
HEY DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE HOMEGUARD 200 WORK IN A HOTEL
well finally i am off house arrest it has been wayyyyy too many years…..as far as you people who are trying to “juke” the system GOOD LUCK with that……they WILL randomly call you in for urines, breathalyzers, and this thing called a hand test which is where they have you wipe yer hands and then they put it in there machine and it tells them if you have even touched shit……and as long as the hotel is approved by the HC or whatever they call them a hotel is fine i did mine at a hotel because i couldnt live in subsidized housing…i actually rented a cottage from this motel but yeah they work in motels but lemme just say FOUr WALLS ARE FOUR WALLS……you just get to eat what you want and dont have smell another dudes CRAP so all in all its a shitload better but….. you can still get cabin fever which is what i am trying to get over now …
sounds like your’s was a little more serious (years?). What agency did you have and for how long? How frequent were your drug tests? Were you able to walk around a good portion of the hotel or were you confined to your hotel room (I’m guessing this is what you mean by four walls).
I just got sentenced to 270 days in OCJ and the crappy firm that I hired made me take the first and only deal offered by the DA but they got them to not excludfe me from applying for house arrest and so I have a few questions about that if anyone could answer them for me please.
I have prior convictions for a few things.
This is my third DUI.
I was at home and I had just left for ten mins to go to El Poilo Loco to get food and when I came back a had trwo shots and a beer with my roommate.
the HB Police showed up with the hellicopter shining its light on our house and the neighbors 30 minutes leter and I went out fron tto see what was going on and they grabbed me and had already ran ly licesne and my neighbor who called them has a beef over the parking on our street so he saw me limping out to my car and heard my room mate tell me to hurry up so we could have a drink before he went to bed so I know that is why he called.
I really didnt drinkl and drive that night but I already pleaded guilty so none of that matters.
I am convicted of my third DUI.
My questions are these.
How hare is the application process here in Orange County California?
If I have prior convitions for possetion with the intent to sell from 1998 will that get me denied?
I also was arrested for assault and battery back then and the charges were dismissed so I know I have to list them but i was not convicted of them so they will know I was arrested way back then for the drug possetion and assault and battery and the 2 feloney’s they gave me for the drugs.
So I guess those are my questions?
Will I get denied for soemthing that happedn over ten years ago and I havetn been arrested since 1998 for anythign except for the 3 DUI’s and I have a great job of three years and I am a chronic pain management paitent and on Narcotic Pain Meds and I have a medical marijuanna prescription but I am going to quit smokeing today so in two weeks I will be clean for the drug test so tat is my other questions.
Will I get drug tested when I apply or if I get accepted?
Will they let me keep taking Narcotic Pain meds that are prescribed by my doctor?
Will they show up at my work and embarrass me?
Anyone who would answere these questiosn for me would be so awesome I can thank you enough in advance so I can stop worring about going to jail for the 270 and loseing my job and insurance and not getting medical treatmetn for my pain.
I am 32 and I walk with a limp and a cain and I have everythign documented for that so does anyoemn thijnk I will get approved for it?
Thanks again to everyone on this site.
Joey
Going to my third and final hearing today for my sentencing. Its my second dui and I have applied for the ankle bracelet program. Im not sure how long of a sentance I will recieve, but im curious as to if I do receive H.A. will the anklet be able to detect alcohol? I don’t plan on drinking or partying as i’ve been clean for a while, but if and when my buddies come over I would unlikely turn down a beer. If someone could get back to me and let me know it would be greatly appreciated, even though im sure I will have many many more questions.
Wasup Stevie,
I also got two dui’s and just went today actually to the intake interview and orientaion. Basically, in Orange County you will get 6o days jail. If you go in you will do 45 days. I applied for house arrest and if you have no other pending cases you will be accpeted with certain conditions. I don’t lnow if you want to know but I’ll explain how the process works(in orange county Sentinel HA program, not sure about other places). 1st fill out the application and send it in. They will give you an intake orientation date. On this day they will test you for drugs as they did for me today so get off that pot or anything that may show up and is illegal. Since our cases were due to alcohol, yes they test for alcohol. The anklet itself does not detect it, this is just to make sure you don’t leave your house unauthorized, but they give you this big breathalizer detecter thing that has a camera on it. Yeah, its pretty crazy. Basically, it goes off randomly and you have to blow into it and the camera will take a picture and send it in to make sure that it is you and not your sober buddy. Anyways, feel free to ask me any more questions. Peace.
Tony
YES!!!! Finally after 20months of a house monitor I am Finally FREE!!!! . . . .well not completly I still have probation, but it feels great to have that damn thing off my leg. and it feels kinda funny not being there after wearing it for 20month it feels like its still on. I am a female and I live in GA heat, so to go almost 2years without wear shorts or a dress and always hinding the monitor with my jeans when I go out its habbit to hide my ankle. Overall I will never allow my self to be put on that again. Best of luck to all Yall! xoxo
does anyone know exactly the range on one of these things? it’s a sentinel…..im glad to hear others info too ..thanks everyone..
Wondering: ya they will give you a piss test when info into sentinel the first time to set everything up. As far as I know if you test dirty you will have to report to jail on your start date. Don’t know 100% as I don’t do drugs so never had an issue.
Thekrafty1: Ok, I like you got a 270 day deal for 3rd DUI here in ca. I got mine in orange county so this is where my info is coming from. Your prescription drugs may disqualify you, espescually the oxycontin. However they may still accept you. Second a felony assault charge as far as know is considered a violent crime so that will disqualify you itself. If it was dismissed then no problem there. Pot will automatically disqualify you (medical or not doesn’t matter.) I luckily didn’t have any of those issues as I take no meds do no drugs and have nothing other than my duis. Also if you have any open matter in any other court in any other county doesn’t matte where you will be denied and have to do your time in jail. Having a steady job will be a good thing when a probation reviews your case and decides your fate. I’ve been on since June 26 and it’s not too bad. So hopefully you get accepted as well. Let me know if you have any othe questions or concerns with the program.
Just me: when they came to my house I asked the guy hooking the machine up how far the range is and he didn’t have a conclusive answer. He said the machine has different settings based on the size of ones home. So far anywher I’ve been inside my house no problem, an I’ve gone all around my backyard and frontyard without an issue thus far. I’ve spent many days relaxing outside laying by the pool this summer. I guess you gotta just take the leap outside and see what happens. I got bored one day and wanted to see the range so I walked up the street a little bit and came back, the sentinel people called and asked where I was coming from home, I just said I was upstairs watching tv and they said o ok have a nice day. No problem but I discovered I went a little too far that day. But the setting the installer gave my machine inguess has enough range toncover my front and backyard so it’s not too bad. Wish I could be more helpful.
Thanks so much for the input.
The assault charge was not a felony and as part of my felony drug conviction for possession with the intent they dropped the other charges and I did my three years felony probation for the drugs.
The Pain meds are prescribed and my doctor will write notes for them and he is the head of the Pain Management Department in Orange for Kaiser.
He has been my Doc for 6 years now.
I broke my Back 7 years ago and I am diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis which is a Rheumatoid Arthritis disease and I am a Chronic Pain Management Patient.
I smoked pot but I quit two weeks ago and I am very skinny so I know I will be clean in another week.
I just moved into a new house and I was sentenced on the 12 and I have until the 13 of November to turn myself in so I needed to move and get the first phone bill with the new address before I could apply so I just got that and I am going to apply on Monday.
I am not worried about testing dirty for anything but the prescribed medications that I have been on for over 6 years and without them I am in debilitating pain and can’t walk or work so if I went to jail I would not get treatment in there.
I am the IT Manager for the company I work for and I manage 15 locations nationwide but I don’t have to travel to the ones out of state and rarely go to ones that are local.
I have been at this job for 3 years and my boss knows and is going to write me a letter.
I am the only one who can run this department and keep the company up and running so if I go in I will lose my job and insurance and the company will lose a lot of business while they try to find someone to replace me and figure out how to run my department.
I have not been in trouble except for the DUI’s and those were in 2001, 2003 and this last one in May and my other arrests and convictions were Assault and Battery and it was a misdemeanor and possession with the intent to sell but I did 6 months and got off of three year probation without ever having a single problem and I actually got off 6 months early so I was a model probationer.
I have grown up since the 98 drug charge and assault cases and the assault was dropped if i plead to the possession so I don’t know if I should be worrying about that.
My lawyer said it is a slam dunk but he got me 270 days so I don’t have much faith in him.
They worked out the deal with the DA and Judge to not deny me HA so I hope that my probation officer will be cool and understand that I don’t take the pain meds for a buzz.
I have been on them so long I don’t feel anything except for less pain then if I didn’t have them.
I walk with a Cain and I dress in Suits and Tie’s so I will present I hope very well to them but if I don’t meet them until they say yes then that won’t matter much.
So you are through Santa Ana Probation?
If you would email me your reply at thekrafty1@live.com I would love to ask you a few more questions.
thanks so much for you replies.
I was so worried I would not get approved but you kind of put my mind at ease since I didnt get convicted of assault and it was not a felony.
The possession was for LSD and I had 180 tabs but I was a stupid kid and I don’t do drugs and I rarely drink because of the meds I am on.
I don’t take Oxycontin anymore.
I take Opana ER for long lasting pain relief and Morphine for breakthrough pain and I don’t abuse them and I also take Arthritis meds and Zanax for Sleep Apnea and night terrors and I sleep walk so I have to have these meds..
I played real hard in Football and skating and surfing when I was younger and have been on a lot of car accidents so that is why I am so jacked up and am on these meds.
The arthritis med is 35 grand a year to be on and the Opana is 15 hundred to be on every month and I would have to detox to come off of them to go to jail so I would have to check into a treatment facility to get off of them and then I would be in such terrible pain that it would be cruel to not let me take them.
It says I am allowed to take prescribed medications on the application but I still don’t know what to think.
Anyways thanks again so much for your reply and if you have time hit me up on my live email address so I can ask you one or two more questions.
Thanks Again.
I hope to hear back from you.

I just faxed in my application for house arrest in orange county ca,
I have an extensive arrest record with some of the charges dismissed one DUI and one Assault and Battery with petty theft arrest dismissed.
I have been convicted of three DUI’s, Possession with the intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance juvenile charge, and grand theft will I be denied?
The possession with the intent conviction and all of them were from 1913 to 1998 and only the three DUI’s are with in the last 11 years.
I have been a good person except for driving under the influence but I have a great job and career and if I go to jail for the 280 days then I will lose everything.
I have complied with all of the terms so far and enrolled in my DUI class and I live with my family now and have a ride to and from everything so I don’t need to drive.
I just think with 9 arrests ad even though the assault was dismissed I will not get accepted.
Does anyone know if you can still get on house arrest with this extensive of a criminal background?
Any help or answers would be so greatly appreciated.
I just don’t think I will get it.
Anyways thanks everyone for you time and answers to my questions.
MindMltn.
I just faxed in my HA application in OC Ca and I forgot a couple of my prior arrests and convictions.
the conviction was a juvinal offense that wasa pobation violaton for false representation of found property and a arrest but no charges filed for prowling when I was also a juvinal.
I think that is all but I have heard of people gettinbg denid for forgetting to includ a violation for a fine that was late.
These are all over 10 to 13 years old and I just cant believe I am so stupid and didnt think of them and list them.
Does anyone think I will still be approved.
thanks.
This is actually the first time I have looked into the ankle monitor/H.A. thing since I have been on it. I have been on H.A. for over 180 days for my current charges. I am being charged with Intoxicated Assault w/ A Vehicle and Failing to Stop and Render Aid. Here is the low-down. I was following an old college buddy of mine and as we crossed through an intersection I received a text message. I glanced down to check the message and veered to the left during that 3 second glance at my phone. Well next thing I knew I curbed checked the median separating the east bound and west bound lanes( this median happens to be 2 feet wide ). So my friend called me due to the fact that he saw what happened through his rear view mirror, I then told him that we should pull over and check to see if my tire/rim was damaged. I drove an Audi A4 with a dropped suspension so of course my tire went flat right after my friend and I hung up. So not even a mile away from the curb check that I happened did we find a place safe enough to pull into and change my tire. As we were changing my tire 3 patrol units pulled up and instantly pulled their pieces out and yelled for us to get on the ground. We did all that we were told to by the cops, then the news was told to me and hit me like a sucker punch. I was told that when I curbed checked the median I also hit a pathetic ass freeloading hobo that was begging for money. Understand this- the detectives pulled my phone records and what they heard had nothing to do with my friend and I stating I hit someone- because neither of us knew that happened. So what transpired (according to the charges ) was that I hit him and ran from the scene. Yet if I wanted to run I would have- I would have either drove my car till the rim sparked or ditched my car and got into my friends car but I did neither. BCUZ I did not know I hit anyone. To add to the story I “DID NOT TAKE” the field sobriety test, the breathalyzer and blood was NOT taken from me. However I must inform y’all that I was on probation for my second dwi but my first one was titled ” deadly conduct ” and my second was ” obstruction of a passage way “. Here in Texas they are harsh on dwi’s but I am confused by the factors at hand with my situation. The state does not have any of the 3 ways they prove guilt related to dwi’s so I ask you my friends. What do y’all think about my situation? My family has turned their backs on me and my friends have told me I have turned into a heartless prick. So this has damaged my character and my confidence in the whole ” Innocent until proven guilty”. Also if there is more information you need to know to create clarity let me know………Anything y’all have to say helps.
Hi i’m in Nor Cal and got sentenced originally to 270 days in jail however i qualified for HA and was given 180 days. i’m down to 120 days left. Gosh sometimes it goes by so slow and other days it just flies by . I go to schoo l full time online so thta helps pass some of time. I also do alot of reading and watching movies. My boyfriend is 3 hrs away in Sacramento and he comes to visit me once a mnth
I cant wait to have this be over with and go back to Sac. I was just wondering if anyone knows about possibly getting off house arrest early for no violations and no issues ….. ???? Hope someone can help
I’m also curious about possibilities of getting off house arrest early. I’m in so cal and was given 270 for a DUI, on the 26th I’ll have 150 days completed on house arrest with 120 to go. Anybody know of anything that could qualify somebody for early termination? Preferably somebody in the California area as I’m sure it varies state by state and county by county. Any info though will be greatly appreciated. I have no violations or anything so far. I’m completely paid up to date for the house arrest fees and all my court fees are paid and all is done except for the ending stretch of house arrest. It’s so damn expensive and I want to get back to normal asap. I’m in school full time and doing everything right. Please let me know what some options may be. Thanks.
I was hoping that someone could let me know if I am totally screwed or if they think I have a chance of getting approved for HA in Orange County Ca if I forgot a few prior arrests and convictions from 12 to 15 years ago.
I faxed in the paperwork two weeks ago and I was talking to an old friend and he brought up a time we got into trouble when we were 18 and he was 17 and were arrested and I was charged for contributing to a minor for giving my friend a beer.
I also forgot some charges from when I was a juvenile and I was on probation and I got convicted of false representation of found property and sentenced to 30 days of juvenile work program.
I stopped going to the program and stopped reporting to my PO and when I went to court they told me that I could do 30 day in OCJ and I would be off probation or I could stay on probation until I was 25 so I opted to go to OCJ so I forgot that on and I just don’t know if I am going to be interviewed by the probation officer before they approve or deny me and have a chance to explain that I didn’t have access to get that info and I forgot because it was so long ago.
I had an assault and battery charge and petty theft charge that was dismissed when I pled guilty to possession with the intent to sell when I finally got stopped 3 years letter and I put that down on the application and everything else I could think of and I have not had any other charges since except for the three DUI’s in 01, 03, and now in 09.
I don’t have any other pending cases and I have a fulltime job as an IT Manager and my work is really hoping I get this SEC as well.
I am a pain management patent and have been for 6 years and have an arthritis disease and if I go to jail I lose my job and health insurance and everything else in my life that is good and won’t be able to do my DUI classes and pay my fines.
I am current on everything and I have done my MADD class and enrolled in my DUI classes and I just hope that I didn’t screw myself by forgetting these thing.
Will I talk to the PO before they make their final decision and tell him about my medical conditions and my job and all of the good things I have going on in my life that I will lose if I don’t get accepted into the SEC Program?
anyways I am sorry to keep posting this and thanks Brian for emailing me and replying to my many emails.
You are one cool guy and I can’t thank you enough.
I just don’t think I am going to get it and I am not sure what my other option are if I get denied to not lose everything.
Anyone who can answer any of these questions I would be so grateful.
I am so scared and worried and I think I have a good reason to be.
Thanks and again everyone and I am sorry to keep junking up this board with my long posts.
Joe.
Well all i can say is to check your local prison for the good time that those prisoners get….because you are actually incarcerated….just at home….so your entitled to the good time that your state allows……..
Jaybone….I am on house arrest in PA, but my charges are out of Garrett Co. Maryland. The jail that i was booked into gives one good day off for every day you serve without incedence! Is that true in all states? I was sentenced to 9 months house arrest so i could possibly only do 4 and a half months? Why don’t they tell you that? I was sentenced to 2 weekends for my second dui and only did 1 weekend! So it should be the same for the third dui even though i am on house arrest? That would be sweet! Appreciate any response!!! THANKS
hi has any1 ever been on the homegaurd 200 cell unit. i want to to know my radius on it and y does my phone light keep flashing red. even though it is not connected to a phone
Is there good time for OC house arrest? I was on diversified since July and on friday the 30th I get placed on centinal. I am so bummed… but whatever I have to be on it for 3 more months I think but I was wondering If anyone knows if there is any way to get out earlier. Brian if you got any feedback fill me in buddy. >:)
Hey Mars.
I had a question about getting approved.
Was it really hard to get approved and what was the application process like for you in OC Ca?
I am currently waiting for the Interview for Approval or Denial and I applied over a month ago and I still haven’t heard back.
Any info would be greatly apreciated onyour experiance.
Thanks a lot Mars.
Please email me at thekrafty1@live.com with any info on your experiance.
Thanks a million.
Hey Jake… To be honest the application process for me was pretty simple, I applied for it and 3 weeks later they told me i was approved but keep in mind that I was already on voluntary house arrest but with diversified so I was able to get credit for 115 days out of my 210 so now I only have like 90 days to go. If you have an attorney you should ask him for advice. Goodluck!
Mars,
I’m wondering the exact same thing you are, how to get off early. So far I haven’t heard anything about how to or what I could do to get of early. I’m a little over half way done so I’m hoping to find something to get off ealry asap. Any insight from anybody that’s knows anything to help please let us know. Thanks.
Hey Brian, I was actually reading the application for HA and it states that there is no good time given for good behavior. Sucks eh? I am done Feb 1st so I keep telling myself it will go fast. Goodluck to you.
what happens when you’re on H.A. and fail one of your breathalyzer test?
wonderer….for us…you pop positive and they bring you back for 7 days….
With house arrest isn’t internet prohibited?
I had heard the same thing but looks like its not, so until they say anything I will be on.
Butterfly, no the Internet is not prohibited.
has anyone ever received a “violation” or know exactly what it is or how many you can get before you are kicked out of the program?
I heard someone forgot their phone for 3 days and they couldn’t reach her and they gave her a warning and told her that was her only warning.
Hey yup I was actually wondering if you figured out anything about the violations… I actually plan on possibly getting a violation next month but its for a very important event and Its only one time. Any information on warnings or anything would surely help me out a lot. Thanks.
How far can u be from home to activate this device. They told me not to go to my garage since is not attache to my house.
hmmm im guessing they take violations pretty seriously (and i believe a violation can range anything from forgetting to write down where you are when you’re allowed to go out to failing a breathalyzer test). Depends on what you’re violating I guess. I mean I’m sure if its a few hours it won’t be as bad as something overnight or otherwise. I would also be careful with going out when you’re not authorized to.
VIOLATIONS; any violation for us here in RI…means you go back and finish out your time……being late…being “out of place”…dirty urine/breathalyzer……..etc. –and more often than not, they double the time that they wanted you to spend in prison, least where i am thats what they do so then if you screw that up yer in for twice as long……..plus you get a warning or anything, and you wont be eligible for parole or goodtime….least here anyways….
so if they find you “out of place” do they immediately call you or do they wait until the next appointment to haul you in?
I was on one bracelet for 3 months and took 3 breathalizers a day via a p.o.s. sobrietor. The guy from house arrest showed up today and changed my unit. I’m now on a home guard 200, and they took the sobrietor. Is this a trick? I’ve got 3 weeks left and i feel they are trying to get me for something. Is it possible that this bracelet can track alcohol through my skin?
SOOOO my dear dear HA friends, does anyone know about this HomeGuard 200 they got me hooked up to out here in Indy, heard alot of cali people talkin already and didn’t know what they track yall with. I just wanna know the range since my neighbors are cool people i hang with, so any help is coo thanks
im on the homeguard 200 also, can’t test for alcohol thru skin, its just the simple radio frequency type that tells if ur inside a certain distance from the box, shit sucks, have figured out tho that u have someone watch the box u can find ur distance due to the lil range light that will come on when u are getting close to ur range, just stay close so that when they call u can answer and tell them ur just sittin on the couch, found out i can visit the neighbors and kick it across the street
I admire, and am amazed by how open and helpful you guys are. All of us on house arrest seem to feel we’re in the same boat. But for those of you who are giving advice about how to slip the bracelet, or fake the schedule — has it ever occurred to you that the biggest followers of this website are house arrest officials themselves? Smarten up. It’s likely that half the posts on here are from cops or their servitors.
think about it this way Charles. If they hauled us all in. Who would pay to keep them in business?
Plus they’re not stupid, they have better things to do than monitor this website. If you violate the rules, they have technology to know so.
agreed bill, they have way more important things to do than sit here and try to figure out who is who on here. this is great place for people on house arrest to get answers to their questions based on people’s experiences. im sure everybody has the common knowledge and sense to realize people are speaking from their own personal experience and what is the case for one may not be the case for another. so take peoples experiences as nothing more than that. by any means i hope people do not take anothers experience as rule or law in regards to their own situation, this is merely a place to ask questions and get peoples opinions and experiences. do as you wish with them. the second people are denied their right to express oneself, that is when our constitutional liberties are at stake. thanks to everyone that have helped me and may help me before my time is done.
I am in Cali and the have me on the Sentinel TrackMate II and it is a GPS phone and a Breathalyzer box at my house and a ankle bracelet.
I can’t leave the house without the GPS unit and when I am at home it goes into the docking station and the ankle bracelet is radio frequency to the GPS unit at home but I get further range at home from it then at work so they expect you to keep it on your person and sometimes I forget it in my backpack and it beeps and says I am out of range and they could call me on it but they never have yet.
I guess they a pretty chill.
I actually forgot it last week and got all the way to work which is an hour drive and had to drive home and get it and I called them and I don’t think they even knew it.
now when they plug it in and download the info on Monday and look at it he may get pissed and send me to jail but I don’t know.
I think they want their $700 a month more then to send me to jail but you never know.
I also can’t drive so my sister does and she stops and goes off the track sometimes so I don’t know if they will get mad about that either.
I just think it is a privilege even though I am paying $700 a month to be on it not to be in jail that I don’t drink or do anything they say not to.
I just hope that the incident of me forgetting it doesn’t bite me in the butt because my Birthday is on Monday and I have to pay them and I will know when I go in if I am going to Jail I guess.
Anyways guys take it for what it is worth and I am going a little stir crazy but it is way better than going to jail.
Take care all and just stick to the program and we will all be free some day.
I got 270 day with only 20 on so far so I have a long way and a lot of money to pay.
Take care all.
Krafty.
