Trouble with house arrest program is all the parole officers mostly treat you like shit and they expect you to become some human diary like i really hate people telling me what i can and can't do it's better been in jail becuase at least you talk with other prisoners and most of them would of said that they've been on it infact about 10% of the prisoners population are mostly in for violations of house arrest

I know most people hate working but you should see it as a time out from the program remember i've now been stuck on house arrest for almost 9 months so the best thing about it is only when i am allowed to go out but most of the rules are just like in jail so i don't really care that much if i have to go back

Another magnificant trick to come up with is on the day of your house arrest flee you should have the bracelet still attached to your leg cut it off in a car park somewhere preferbly a big shopping centre with lots of no oover parking stick the bracelet once it's cut off under a car with packaging tape and leave it on the car. THat way when the alert goes off the people at sentanal won't think much of it especially if the tracker begins moving again this will give you much more time as you need at least 2 hours to leave town

To Itchy ankle,
I probably only use this site to see if new comments are up the best support you could probably get is to make sure that you are not isolated in your house for long periods of time this means if possible invite friends over regually remember this is still prison man so you are really just getting a visitor as you would normally in jail although there are no time limits just a stupid system to try to comprehend the bracelts themselves really itch actually the one i'm wearing now is worse than the one i started with. I'd be really intrested in starting up a support group but it's hard to find others

Just a quick reminder anyone planning on fleeing house arrest should never carry there own mobile with them as that's got a gps in it and you could easily be tracked within a few days

hi leslie don't worry just cut it off and keep a note of that call legally there's nothing they can do providing you write down what time they called in case you get some real asehole of a PO and believe me they're out there i too am on house arrest but luckily one of my reporting requirements has only about 20 days left on it. I used to think that a special pin was required and a code had to be entered into a computer to take off a bracelet but i wasn't complety right

Yes it can but not 24 hours a day mostly it will tell officers that your somewhere in range mine happes to be water proof so that's an advantage I have the same problem with my mail it's literally no more than a couple of metres but somehow they know if i've gone there I've found it helps to leave a message with them before leaving so it makes it harder to get breached

To got lucky the answer is you are allowed to leave your home but only for 3 minutes always keep it under that so you could go to a neighbours house for example or if you lived across the street from a gas station you could go over there but it has to be quick otherwise they'll get the alert. See movie "100 Feet" this explains

Hi itchyankle,
I'm harry and i've now been on house arrest for nearly 9 months it's nothing but hell i think a good idea to consider is an appolgy letter sent to the victims of whatever it was you did to get you on house arrest then leave town it's important though to have yourself extreemly well financed becuase alot of people will just leave town without even thinking then if they get in trouble they can end up homeless if your worried so much about the cops catching you it's best to leave the state that way they probably won't bother with extradition as it's so expensive, Caasting $3000 just for the cops to put in an application and the greatest news is they have to have a warrent unlike if you've been out on bail/parale release A fake id is also a good idea that way you can check into different hotels/motels around the state probably best to stay in 1 place for no longer than a week It's best also to send a letter of apology or a mercy plea to your parole officer but be sure to do that just before you leave and before you cut the bracelet off. A discuise is import as well depending on how well you can get yourself set up the main advantage of a fake id is for a fake name that way wherever you sign in the police can't track you It's important to have on the fake ID a State approved watermark i've heard you can buy these just as stickers be sure though when applying it to the id not to leave any bumps or bubblemarks anywhere on it. If you are relly smart you could lie to the parale officer about where you've fled to. Another option is to go to a small regional country town as long as it's in another state the local police even if they knew you were there probably wouldn't bother coming out and even talking to you about it. But number 1 rule on the run and this appliies to everyone considering fleeing house arrest is Always make sure that you don't brake the law in anyway in the state you flee to apart from Fraud offences Just in relation to your message about Sentaninal yes they do make random calls and visits but the visits are the biggest problem as they can happen anytime but generally they won't visit you after hours and you have about a 4 hour legal gap before the cops will really be out looking for you. No police officers are going to come out to someone's house only minutes after a bracelet was cut off the only time they will do that is if you are under what's called Curfew generally never cut off the bracelet while at home as it sends an instant message it's best to be out at the time and to have your discuise set up and possibly the fake id with you then it's time to leave town and leave town quick!!

Yep the bracelet now can be removed it's a simple locking meconism about 1cm thick and now i've learnt the only way to remove a bracelt is to cut it with scisoors like what i thought the trick to is to work on a small sqare but the bracet can be removed easily and i was right cutting it off with scissors sets off an alarm they actually have all their gear locked inside the HMU it's in the back of it with a normal key hole when the scissors have cut it off it took at least 3 minutes to sound. It's much like a seatbelt that's how it's locked into a very small mechonisim also only 1 side of the bracelet can be taken off the other side is locked into it like a bolt but yes if you cut your bracelet off you've got about a 3 mintue head start and at least they could be getting a false alert if you're going to leave town never leave on a bus it takes too long to get out and the greatest news is according to some website the alarm will take even longer to go off providing it's taken off at least 3km from your house. How i know this is I stuck a camera right up on the box and then left on a pass and it took about 10 minutes to realise on the system that i was actually out So guys the trick is in the HMU itself but opening that is risky too. Better to be out and then leave town but if your going to do it do it damm fast
