Kelly Ripa Says Regis Philbin Survives Bypass

Regis Philbin, Co-host of “Live with Regis and Kelly”, has had a successful bypass surgery. As I had written in an earlier article when Philbin announced bypass surgery was needed, he had been having shortness of breath and chest pains for weeks prior to the surgery.

Regis had the surgery Tuesday morning and it is reported that he is already up and joking with people. Kelly Ripa made the announcement on Wednesday mornings show that Regis had made it through the surgery with flying colors. She also stated that Philbin’s doctor has said that Regis has the heart of a 19 year old.

This is certainly relieving news for all of Regis Philbin’s family, friends and fans. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him back at work as soon as possible.

Why isn’t Live With Regis and Kelly live on TV in the morning while Regis is recuperating. Why isn’t Kelly Ripa hosting the show with a guest host? Why is it repeats?

    Regis,
I was on the NCL Star cruise ship, doing the Mexican Riviera when you were. I had the opportunity to chat with you from the audience by microphone following your performance. I didn’t have a question to ask. I was the one who wanted to say that to see you was truly a delight in my life. You asked my name & where I was from. I replyed Sandy from Iowa. You asked where in Iowa, I answered Rockford, I should of went on to say that Rockford is the home town to Robert Waller, the author of “Bridges of Madison County”. However, I went on to mentioned that I have enjoyed growing older with you the past years. Do you recall your answer? You said, “you may have grown older but not me lady!”

For supper that night we chose the same dining room. My husband, friends and I departed the dining room first, walking past your table. Joy, you and friends were chatting, waiting for your meal. Everyone was relaxed. You had your arm upon the railing. As I walked by I put my hand on your arm and said, “I have enjoyed growing older with you”. You turned to look at who was talking and then you replyed, “me too”. By then Joy and your friends were looking at me!I managed to walk on, weak knees and all.

The following night I went to the casino. When leaving there, I happened to glance to the left as I turned right and there you were with Joy and friends coming down the hall. You looked at me and said hello.

You honest made our “my” cruise one to remember. My husband knows how you “make my mornings”! At lunch he learns what is going on. For a while I shared about Kathy Lee. Now it is Kelly and you. I love Kelly too. We have lunch watching “All My Children”. So we are familar with her from there.

My Sunshine friend, I/we are pleased you are “doing it” following your surgery. Over all mending will take a while. Maybe in a year we could have a foursome in tennis! Because I only wanted to tell you how much seeing you ment to me, could I ask a question now. I would love a signed photo of you. Would ya?

    My Best Regis,

    Sandy Heard

Since I work every day, I don’t have a chance to watch your program, unless we have a day off. I certainly hope that you are doing well and almot back to normal (whatever normal is) I am going to be 72 in June, and because of the company I retired from went “belly up” I lost everthing…to long to explain….but you have been an inspiration, I only pray that God will keep me going and in relatively in good health. I am alone, but am handling life fairly well, Yes, it would be great to be able to somewhat retire, but I know I would do some type of charity work, there is plenty out there that needs to be done. I had a great life, so far…..even did 39 half hour shows on PBS back in 1984 and 85 “Painting Ceramics with Helen Altieri” went around the world twice and Europe many times and every state except Alaska (hope to do that one day) this was all related to work, (teaching seminars)and wrote five how to books so am not complaining, just wanted to wish you well, and hope you are back 100% God Love you Sincerely Helen Altieri
