Elizabeth...wow...excellent points! It really is very simple, yet so many of these meatheads don't get it. As long as a law is in place, if you break it, you pay the consequences. Thank you for helping me believe that there are at least a few people out there who "get it!" It's too bad that so many people don't get it.

You call yourself "Another Adult", but you certainly don't write like one. "This is a bored for us to talk about the law." Huh? I get "bored" reading posts like yours.

I made a point and it was a very simple one. If you can't read, please have someone read this to you. It's taken from my post.

"For those of you who legitimately disagree with the law and wish to do something about it, talk to your elected officials and do so with better command of the English language than many of you have displayed here. There are proper ways of doing things. Whining incoherently on a chat board is not one of those proper ways of working for change. Take some time to collect your thoughts in a rational manner and then talk to those who can help you."

That's what I said. If you don't like something, there are ways to go about voicing your opinion and actually attempting to do something positive. Rambling on incoherently online is not going to change anything.

What is your whole point? This is a bored for us to talk about the law. It's not something we're doing to change the laws. We're just talking to others of like mind. And then you come along and correct everyone that wrote anything incorrect? You have no point or reason to even say anything. Who cares if they made spelling mistakes or just wrote it as one long run-on sentence. Maybe they were in a rush writing it and didn't noticed the mistakes. You don't know their reason.
My POINT to you is, You went and belittled everyone on this page for no reason whatsoever. And you said nothing about the law except, Its the law, deal with it.
Next time you wanna be all high and mighty, think twice.
"If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all"

Maybe there is less teens getting speeding tickets, because most of them had their licenses taken away cuz of this bullshit law.
And Maybe if the cops did their jobs and pulled over everyone that speeds, you'd see the correct statistics. I know more adults speed. Teens are just on the road more when cops feel like looking for them.

If you know the law then intentionally break it why are you surprised by the consequences. You were told what the rules were now you have to "man up" and accept the consequences. Ignorance is not bliss in this case. Yes many people of all ages speed and if you make that choice to be one of them then you pay the price if you are caught. If you don't want to pay the price then simply follow the rules. This is not rocket science.

Hi. This has all happened to me already: I got a speeding ticket when I was under 18, got my license suspended for 90 days, paid the fees, attended the classes.. it was all very unfair. Now, I've had my license back since June and I was on my way home from school today and got pulled over on the highway for speeding, although I was following traffic and I had also just passed a MAC Truck! I am now over 18, but will I have my license suspended again for a year? or does it not apply to my anymore now that I'm over 18? I've heard that if you get your JOL taken away for speeding and then you get another ticket before you're 21 then you lose your license again for a year this time.. is this true? HELP!

Like many laws, there are good and not-so-good aspects to this one. The problem that I see though is that many of you who are against the law are doing a poor job stating your case, which is hardly going to change any minds. You're either whining, "that's not fair" or you're using horrible grammar and language. If you want to make a point, take the time to speak your mind without sounding like an idiot. For example...

lori - 06/04/2007 at 6:29 pm
"with one mistake she had to paid a ticket and lose her license for 90 days not to mention the reinstatement fees the road rage course (ridiculas) take the driving test again and all the ser charges that go with it."

ridiculas? ser charges? You immediately reduce the impact of your comments by looking like you failed to go past the 5th grade.

mark - 06/17/2007 at 5:52 pm
"i got pulled over 2 days ago tryin 2 catch up to someone that was supposto be following me. i turn 18 on july 1st so if they take my license away after i pay the fine on july 2nd im gonna be so rippin."

Assuming that I can get past "supposto", where is the logic in trying to catch up to someone who was supposed to be following you? Guess what...you lose! Whatever your excuse, you were breaking the law. It is your responsibility to know the law and to abide by it. If someone you're with is going to fast, too bad, you let them go. Telling people that you can't follow the law is not an excuse. As for "rippin", come on now, if you want to make a point, leave the slang behind.

"So us “kids” have to have our mommies and daddies paying over $500 for driver’s ed?

Lucky me, I am late by EIGHT DAYS to get my permit before the August 31 deadline and therefore I have to ask my parents to pay over $500 for driver’s ed to sit in a crowded classroom and watch videos of teen car crashes.

So tell me, how the hell is any generation going to drive? We’re all going to be fatasses not getting jobs because well, how the hell do we get there?"

If your parents just give you money all the time to cover your mistakes, shame on them. If you are late, guess what, you're late! You admit being late. There were rules that you didn't follow. Kids like you would just love for there to never be consequences for anything. Guess what, life doesn't work that way. As for all of you being "fatasses" because you can't drive, thanks of course to your own stupidity, maybe you wouldn't be "fatasses" if you rode a bike or walked to your job. Driving a car isn't going to stop you from being one of those "fatasses" of which you speak.

Kevin - 08/01/2007 at 1:58 pm

"If you had to do what we teens are going to have to do if we get caught speeding then u wouldnt like this law AT ALL!!!. So really you guys need to think about want because for all you know…. your next!!!"

Would you like some cheese with that whine? It's the law...deal with it! Also, please, learn the difference between "your" and "you're" sometime.

Jenny - 09/23/2007 at 7:54 pm
"Im 15 and im starting drivers ed tomorrow. the new law is making me pay $700, and my parents have to sit in a 2 hour class with me. they work.. all parents work! how are they supposed to take time off ?? this law is so unfair to jr operators like me.. this is completely discouraging all teens to want to drive."

It's the law. It's two hours for one time only. Deal with it. What's really funny though is your suggestion that, "this is completely discouraging all teens to want to drive." So you're suggesting that because of this law, teens are no longer going to want to drive? I guess you're a 15 year old comedian too. I really don't see teens no longer wanting to drive.

Ben - 10/01/2007 at 5:27 pm
"i think these laws are fucking insane, everyone speeds, not just teens. FUCK THE SYSTEM!"

Yeah, that's really going to successfully make your point. Idiot posts like this just set your cause back even further.

cindy - 02/21/2008 at 5:01 pm
"i agree with you it just doesnt make any sense
why if my son was licensed before the law went into effect should he penelized now its just so unfair i paid the ticket thinking that was the end of it but oh no not now we have to do all this crap to get him reinstated i almost want to tell him to take his car and take his chances he was on the highway keeping up with the traffic he has been driving for two years with incidents now this. He is on the high honor roll at school and was expected to go to UTI in Norwood in July now all that is over now that he has a suspension they will not allow him in the school so for one speeding ticket his life has turned upside down my heart is breaking and now i have to kiss all their asses just to let my kid drive again by the way he works 4 days a week and i have no way to get him there so now what???? we should all picket the registry against this ridiculous law"

Punctuation? Capitalization? Spelling? Grammar? "penelized" ???

So many of the points that were made on this board acknowledge breaking of the laws that are in place. People...it's your obligation to know the laws and to follow them. Most of you have absolutely no case here.

For those of you who legitimately disagree with the law and wish to do something about it, talk to your elected officials and do so with better command of the English language than many of you have displayed here.
