Peter Manfredo Jr defeats Alfonso Gomez
Wow what a fight. Peter Manfredo Jr defeated Alfonso Gomez at what was hard to see with all the scene changes but none the less a great fight. Lots of hard shots were exchanged.
One hour before the fight. Peter and Alfonso separated to their locker rooms, where they gathered their focus for the trial ahead. “I dedicate this fight to my family,” Alfonso said. “They’re the most important thing in my life. If I know that my family was already set for life, I wouldn’t care if I lived in a box, y’know?” He chatted with his parents and brothers, as Peter relaxed with his wife, daughter, and father.
The trainers taped up the boxer’s mitts, and Tommy stopped by to give them some last minute advice. “This is it,” Alfonso said. “There is no tomorrow. Tonight’s the night. This is the fight of my life. I feel like I’m actually holding the million dollars with me right here. And whoever fights me wants to take it away from me, and I’m not going to let it happen.” As the crowd filed into the Contender Arena, the anticipation was palpable. The rematch was on. “This time is going to be a different story,” Peter said. “I’m going to take him to school.”
After seven rounds of pulse pounding and hard punching action, the judges reached a unanimous decision: Peter Manfredo Jr. was the winner over Alfonso Gomez. “I just fought the fight of my life, and I’m extremely happy. Vegas, baby!” Peter said. His comeback was complete. “I was the first one out of here, and I came back strong,” he said. “I feel like I washed my loss away.”
“It was definitely not my day,” Alfonso said. “But he had his hands full tonight. He didn’t walk over me. I never gave up.” He retreated to his locker room to begin the long process of mending his wounds. “This is not the end for me. This is just another step towards reaching my goals: becoming world champion,” he promised. The Guerrero from Guadalajara hung his gloves up next to the other defeated fighters, exited the tournament, and bid his brother boxers goodbye. “May the best man win. Thank you for everything. And viva Mexico!”

It was a tough fight. I think both boxers deserve
our appreciation for putting it on the line.
I don’t agree with scoring, but do agree with
the decision though it was alot closer than most
people realize. I know we will see Alfonso again
and this time he’ll have the experience to back
up his heart. Congratulations to Peter, it may be
his time to be the Contender.

I didn’t like this fight at all, I liked both guys – but Alfonso more. I feel that Alfonso didn’t have his complete game face on, as he did with Manfredo in the first fight and with Babyface in his second fight. I think – he had in his head that he was fighting a friend.
I miss Alfronso so much already, even tho I’ll see him in Vegas in a few days for the bronze fan-favourite round. Man I wished that he kick Manfredo’s butt.
Anyways… good match.

I wish he beat Manfredo AGAIN too. Manfredo is a good fighter but it is not fair that he was brought back. Alfonso more than deserves the world. We need more poeple like him around.

I’m glad the Peter won..i’m also glad he got another chance too..he deserved it.It was too bad he didnt win Contender though..but i was soo happy when he beat Alfonzo!

I was gutted that Alfonso lost the fight, I really wanted him to win the contender. I know we will see more of him because he has the heart of a winner. (and he’s a great little dancer too!)

2nd fights are always tricky because since alfonso won the first one, he thought that by fighting the same way he fought the first fight would be enough to win the second one and what he didnt expect is that manfredo was going to change his game plan. I love alfonso and I thought he shouldve at least been at the final but i still think fonso is a more complete fighter than manfredo. so thats the only reason why manfredo won he had the edge and with that said…… VIVA MEXICO!!!!!!

im so glad peter won agaisnt alfonso! he totally deserved it after losing to him the first round! and getting another chance! and beating him! i just hoped that peter would of won the contender! because him and his family deserve it! and i feel he is the best boxer! but i do feel for alfonso and his family!

i cant belive alfonso lost he was so close and i think he showed great determination. but i think that manfredo shud of neaver of been brought back in as i see it as un fair to the other boxes as 1 person gets another chance while the others only get 1. ow and befor i forget alfonso shud remember that he was the first one to defeat manfreado

hey guys,now now its a reality show, they can make the rules up about who can go and who can come back. its was the other contenders who brought peter back. ahmed got a second crack at the whip but unfortunatly it wasnt his time. im glad peter got a second chance and he worked hard for it. i wanted peter to beat alfonso gomez the 2nd time round, but truely i did feel for gomez, the little blighter grew on me in the up and coming weeks. and we cant forget that he didnt go home empty handed in the end, he got the bronze and i believe we will see him again. congrates to sergio for his victory although peter manfredo jr will always be the true contender to me. keep going peter, i want to see you reach the top. xx

Manfredo deserved to win! hes a great fighter although Alfonso was also a great guy.It’s a pity Manfredo didnt win the competition. *PRIDE OF PROVEDINCE*

Manfredo unfortunately deserved to win that fight. On the night he was definately the better boxer. But Alfonso has the heart of all the rest of the contenders, the least known, smallest and the biggest underdog. Well done to him for getting this far

peter’s a good fighter, we all know that, but alfonso gave it all against him. Peter was even knocked down due to a body shot but it was giving by the ref as a slip. Very dissapointed. Alfonso should be there in vegas not peter, but one things for sure Alfonso will be back and he will come back to haunt peter in the future.

GREAT FIGHT! I’M GLAD THE REMATCH WAS ON AND I FELT IT WOULD BE A GREAT FIGHT! FIRST OFF, ALFONSO IS AN AMAZING JABBER AND FRUSTRATER OF ALL TYPES OF FIGHTERS—ALFONSO DEFINATELY PROVED HIMSELF EVEN ASIDE FROM THE LOSS TO MANFREDO.. peter deserved to win the contender. unfortunately he didnt. he needs to wokr on his stamina as everything else is perfect. he deserved to be bought back in as him and his family deserve the money. all of you who thought he shouldnt have been bought back can kiss my ass. im a boxer 2 and look up 2 peter, so any1 disrespectin him can suck dick.

Tyler has it exactly right. Peter was in control of the fight until he ran out of gas. He used too much energy ealy in the fight trying to push “The Latin Worm” open for the hard hits. I’m sure that Sergio knew the he had to wear Manfredo down to beat him, and there is no way that he could beat Peter down , so he had to take a beating until Peter tired out. Alot of people think that it was unfair that Peter got brought back, but don’t forget that he had ot fight twice to make the second round. That many fights in a short amount of time is a huge disadvantage. I think that Alfonso would have beat the hell out of Sergio(so would Peter in a rematch), but Peter probably would have beaten Alfonso for the million. Peter Manfredo, and Alfonso Gomez definitely have solid futures in boxing, and if Jesse Brinkley picks up the right trainer we’ll probably see him with a future. I’d be surprised if Sergio Mora makes it much further.
