You’re Gay and Want a Fairy Tale Wedding… Go to Disneyland
Disneyland is now allowing same sex marriages to take part in the Fairy Tale Weddings Program. This very popular program includes a gay wedding planner, the ceremony, food and beverages and also the flowers and table decorations. Start searching on your Vacation packages for Disney World people!
Wow, how can you beat that? Well if you want to really “gay it up” (I’m not being mean…you’ll see) you can go for the “Lavish Wedding” package. This includes all of the services provided in the “Fairy Tale” package but you also get a ride to the ceremony in the Cinderella coach, have costumed trumpeters announcing your awaited arrival and last but definitely not least, Micky and Minnie Mouse will be in attendance dressed to the nines for this formal occasion.
See, I told you I wasn’t being mean. I could be wrong but I don’t see many lesbians going for this Fairy Tale Wedding.
As you might imagine Disney is taking a lot of heat from this announcement. I’m not talking about jokes and stuff, even gay people like a good gay joke. I’m talking about those weirdo religious groups. The Southern Baptist Convention is one of the many religious conservative groups to speak out about their belief that this is wrong. This is the same group that had boycotted Disney World for 8 years because Disney provided health benefits for the same sex partners of their employees. Oh the horror!
These religious groups make me laugh. Do they think that because they don’t believe that don’t agree with something that it automatically makes it wrong? Unfortunately a lot of companies give them this false sense of power by actually paying any attention to their letters of complaint. I am pleased that Disney is not buying into this.
I know that I used the phrase “gay it up” in this article but it was only to paint a picture. A very gay picture. If you know anything about this site you know that we support same sex marriage. I believe that two people should be able to do whatever they want to do in life. Even if it means having a same sex fairy tale marriage ceremony. Disney shares this view making a statement that they “have a policy of creating a welcoming, respectful and inclusive environment for all of our guests”.
Wow, it truly is the most magical place on earth!
