Sidekick 3 Price an Official Release

All current T-Mobile customers can buy the Sidekick 3 starting on June 28th 2006.
It will be made available to the general public starting July 10th.
Pricing runs $299 with a 2-year contract, $349 with a 1-year and $399 for pre-paid arrangements. The wbsite has been updated to reflect the new device. The following are some of the features:

What’s interesting is that the T-Mobile MDA has everything that this new SK3 has but then some, and the MDA has been out for a little while now.
Now, it’s slighty heavier than the Sidekick but if you are looking for a variety of features, especially the 320×240 screen that some of you mentioned, it has that, and although Michelle mentioned the latest Blackberry, which by features is pretty nice, but it lacks Bluetooth and a MiniSD card slot, which the MDA has (and the SK3 will have), and the MDA has the Word and Excel (and Powerpoint) mobile versions just like the Blackberry (which the SK3 won’t have, but most younger people could care less about that unless their in college and save some assignments on them).
And although the MDA doesn’t have Intel (it only has a 200MHz processor) it’s connectivity options are more than the Blackberry in that it can connect from as simple as a WAP connection (but that’s like if you’re in the country somewhere), but mostly you’ve got GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth, and then WiFi at the top level if you have it or go to a T-Mobile Hotspot to connect for free. Then it also has a slide out QWERTY keyboard with spaced out keys, although you can just use the stylus and tap away if you want. Oh, and did I mention the that when you slide the keyboard out that the screen image shifts from potrait to landscape instantly?
As for mine, thus far, I’ve loaded a full movie onto it (e.g. Ocean’s Twelve), some mp3s, and some pics (with great resolution might I add, though with the 1GB miniSD card I got, I’m gonna have to upgrade to a 2GB though I’m holding out to see if a 4GB comes out soon and just get that and be set).
Sideckicks are known for their messaging and the MDA even has AIM, Yahoo, and MSN messengers…oh, and it’s a phone, too! (lol)
I’m not knocking the SK3, for what I do know about it thus far, it seems the MDA has it everything you could want and then some. The onyl reason I’m hyping up the MDA is because I was also waiting for the SK3 but while doing my research while getting the leaked info on specs, it just seemed that the MDA had more going for it.
If interested, is selling it for $249 (as opposed to T-Mobile’s $299 price) but also offers $200 in rebates to knock the price down to a crazy $49!
Do the homework, compare the features, figure out what fits you best, and decide. For those who needed an option (perhaps a better one) I hope this was helpful.

I preordered my Sidekick 3 and got it for only $49 plus I think $8 for shipping. They’e giving $200 rebate on it too!!!

I just spoke to a representative at letstalk.com and they have no idea when the sidekick 3 is coming out or if they will even carry it from what I was told by two different representatives. So I don’t know if this a rumor about them carrying it for $249 and getting $200 in rebates.

also check out letstalk.com website they do not even advertise the sidekick 3 yet and the sidekick 2 it supposely on backorder. One representative say they do not carry the sidekick 2 anymore and will not sell anymore sidekicks. So I don’t know who is telling the truth.

call and ask them that because I even spoke to a supervisor who said the same thing so I do know why they would tell me this, but please don’t be rude to me because I’m only telling people what they told me because I’m trying to order the sidekick 3 myself, so maybe the representatives I spoke to were not telling the truth. Did you call in and order it or did you order it from there website because I don’t even see it on their website at all?

I would like to know also and I’m trying to steer people the wrong way either. So please can you tell me did you go on letstalk.com and where did you find the phone because I don’t see on their website anywhere and when I put in the search bar sidekick 3 nothing comes up, but they keep showing the sidekick 2 and it’s on backorder for the sidekick 2. Can you please give me the info. so I can try and order one? Thanks

you know what everyone….the sidekick 3 on the top is real…….how i know…because sidekick 3’s are sold on june 28 at the santa monica t mobile store…..AND they will be release on july 10 worldwide…..go to danger.com for more info……..look on the right side once you there all of its there….

Hi, was wondering about the rebate thing from letstalk as well…
I tried doing a search for sidekicks on their site and only came up with results for the sidekick 2
Was the $250 price tag with the $200 rebate only a pre-order special type deal? Or do they still have that going?
Anyone have any luck recently calling in and finding out? My friend was looking into getting one and I’m sure she’d be happy to find out that it’s possible to get them with that big a rebate.

Hey! umm, I want to buy a sidekick, but I live in Peru so I don’t know if it will work here.
I read on a web that a girl had some trouble with her sidekick, she bought it in Miami but she lives in Peru so she changed the sim card for another one of a local operator and then she couldn’t use the internet, so I don’t know if I shoud buy one
What should I do??! Help!
