Hey! umm, I want to buy a sidekick, but I live in Peru so I don’t know if it will work here.

I read on a web that a girl had some trouble with her sidekick, she bought it in Miami but she lives in Peru so she changed the sim card for another one of a local operator and then she couldn’t use the internet, so I don’t know if I shoud buy one What should I do??! Help!
