[...] The side effects include (get ready to cringe) gas with oily spotting…yikes, loose stools, and more frequent stools that may be hard to control…look out! BUT and this is a big but, if you follow the recommended fat intake of not more than 15 grams of fat per meal you are less likely to experience any adverse side effects. No more eating chocolate late at night. Even the sugar free chocolate. [...]

Its great and everything that you have found sugar free items, but being diabetic should have no special bearing on one's diet. With general health in mind it would be a good idea not to have to much sugar, but with the diabetes all he needs to do is check his blood sugar more often and take more insulin when indulging in sweets, and it will have no negative effect on the control of the blood sugar, or diabetes.

For those people looking for a no sugar alcohol chocolate (no laxative effect), go to www.d-lectable.com and look for the hi fiber--low G.I.page. These are made with a "new" no sugar alcohol sweetener that does not have the laxative effect of other sweeteners. Keep in mind that these items are high in fiber which means you still have to watch the quantity you consume, but you will not get the belly aches that are associsated with "SUGAR ALCOHOL PRODUCTS"

Know of any other sites that sell sugar free candy for Valentines Day?

I think sugar-free candy is a great alternative for people who shouldn't be indulging in the forbidden pleasures of sugary treats. It’s great for people that just want to cut some of the sugar out of their diets, but what about the people that can’t stop at just one serving size? Have you read the warning labels to most of these products? They say that excessive consumption will cause a laxative effect. You might as well just buy a package of chocolate flavored Ex-Lax.
