What’s the best way to hook up an iPod, or any portable media player, to a home stereo?
The easy cable way:
- Buy a $5 1/8-inch mini-to-stereo RCA cable from RadioShack.
- Connect the RCA end to Aux In or CD In on back of your stereo.
- Plug the mini end into the iPod jack. Or better yet, if you own an iPod dock, plug it into the dock’s line-out jack.
- Press Play.
Afraid of cables? Check out FM transmitters for the iPod. My brother and a few friends have tried them and definitely don’t love ‘em, but they may work for you.
And definitely get yourself a NaviPod wireless remote if your iPod is often anchored to your stereo. Also check out this article about how to get more use out of your iPod.
