i fought out of the west end gym when it was on middlesex st across from the 201 bording house.when micky trained for arthur i loved watching him spar.what a great body shot puncher was what i remember the most i can’t wait for the movie.i also remember micky from captain john’s i shot dart out of there for ten years

I grew up in Lowell in the projects. I used to see Micky in the seedier bars of Lowell. Of course, I was in them too. I am happy to see someone who grew up on the wrong side of the tracks make good. Good for him. I hope Dickie is staying clean. Life is too short man.

micky ward lives right down my street in lowell ma,
i seen him a couple times walking his dogs,
but around here, no one knows who he is.

I know for a fact that they are filming this movie in Lowell, MASS this coming week. on 14th, 15th and 16th. They are using a gym on Johns street and doing an open extra filming at the Tsongas arena, and not to mention filming a scene in the dead center of what was crack-ville to get the realistic feel of the problems with the upbringing in the drug laden area.

I was friends with Mickey Johnny and David in the 7th through 9th grade. I always looked up to Mick who knew at a young age what he wanted to do. He was the first i called when i arrived in jacksonville for my honeymoon. Now a father of three and 11 years from retirement living in south georgia and hope i can reunite with those guys one day. p.s. dickey and k.o. i will always remember with their funny expressions like “theodore” and “fur’ and “prick”

There is no doubt that this will be a great movie. Don’s right, Ward vs Gatti 1 was the best fight I also have ever seen. Mark Wahlberg is a great choice to play Micky. I lived in South Boston and Dorchester and got to know Mark’s brother Jimbo, a great guy who helped me greatly when I needed to move out of Lowell. This movie will have it all, Dickie will also be a big part of this movie.

I have been looking forward to this Micky Ward movie for more that two years. Is it really going to be released next year. The first fight with Gatti was the best fight I ever watched, and I have seen all the great fights from the time of Joe Louis. Micky is a credit to Lowell Mass, where I grew up and did what Micky Ward did and fought in the Silver Mittens the first year it strated in 1949. I hope the movie shows what a great fighter Micky Ward really is.
