@Debra Callaghan - I've never seen anyone completely uninstall IE7 successfully on their XP computer. It's too much apart of the OS itself.

Hi,
I have a question. I have ie7 and no longer use it. I use Mozilla instead. Can I uninstall ie competely since I have Mozilla? I just uninstalled the latest ie beta update because it crashed my illustrator programs. ughhhhhhhhh and my computer asked me if I wanted to update it.

Thanks,

RE: Per your Uninstall IE7 via regedit instructions below, after typing InstalledByUser and pressing enter an Edit DWord Value window opens. What svalue should be entered? Also, you say try the uninstall again. How? Via Add/Remove Progrrams? Please advise. Thanks, Ken Ryan

1. Click Start, click Run, and type “regedit” and then press ENTER.

2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer.

3. Right-click the Internet Explorer key, click New, and then click DWORD value.

4. Type “InstalledByUser” as the name, and then press ENTER to finish creating the new registry value.

5. Try to uninstall Internet Explorer 7 again.
