Xbox 360 hacks and mods
Information regarding the new Xbox leaked three days before Microsoft Corp.’s formal worldwide unveiling on MTV.
Details about the newest video game was on the Internet on Monday. Microsoft will not confirm the detail until the unveiling.
The new console will allegedly be known as “Xbox 360.” According to internet technology reports, the console is mostly white and designed to stand on one end, will feature a wireless controller and also a remote control that appears to handle multimedia functions like audio and video playback.
Among those details were a detachable 20 gigabyte hard drive, support for wireless networking, three 3.2 gigahertz central processors, surround sound and universal support for high-definition video.
Microsoft would not confirm any of the information circulating on the Web, saying “everything you are reading about at this point is buzz and speculation.” Microsoft said in early April it would unveil its new console on MTV, a change in tactics in an industry where new hardware has always been revealed at trade shows closed to the public.
Microsoft said at the time it wanted to break that mold and drum up public enthusiasm for its new machine.
At a recent Seattle convention, Mr. Gates reassured us that, “This year [will be year of high-definition], because we’re going to ship this next Xbox.†And while this is by no means an absolute certainty, it lends credence to the widespread rumor that the Xbox 360 will ship at the end of 2005. Gates again stressed that the next-gen console will act as a media hub akin to Windows Media Center.
We’ll likely know for sure when MTV unveils the Xbox 360 next Thursday.

modiOf couse you can mod an xbox 360, once youve bought one.. its your property.. NOT MICROSOFTS
(MY PROPERTY) and if i want to smash it up its up to me…
granted id loose microsofts warranty BUT THATS ALL…they cant tell you what to do with your own cosole?
